Sorry for the disappointment – refund or no, it’s frustrating to work hard on an application and not even have it read. I guess we’ll get more numbers as the fall semester approaches. It may be that yield didn’t drop as much as they expected, and an oversized incoming class resulted, leaving no housing space for transfers. Maybe 20 out of 150-200? I believe it will be similar to Pomona’s intake. The lady who gave the tour said they should be able to accommodate more transfers now. I recently toured the school, and I believe they have had some issues with space/housing in the past. Hey! Scripps is one of my top choices, so you aren’t alone. After checking on their Common Data set for 16, it seems that for both years, ~200 applicants applied and very few got in: 0/200 and 1/190, respectively. Apparently they even offered to refund the applicants, because they didn’t read their apps. One thread said that in that year, they did not accept anyone at all. Scripps is my top choice for transferring, and I’ve been reading some of the old threads here. A maximum of four such elective course credits will count toward the degree but may not be used toward the 16-course residence requirement. For International Baccalaureate courses and examinations, scores of five, six, or seven on higher-level examinations will be considered for credit. Course credit is generally transferable if the prior college is accredited, the course carries a grade of C or better, and the course is comparable to one offered by any of The Claremont Colleges. The Admission Committee places considerable weight on the content and quality of the college transcript(s) and college faculty recommendations.
